Ms. Amy
Amy Vangellow is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In 2005, she joined what would become the power trio Peppermint James as their bassist, co-lead vocalist, co-writer, and manager. The band was both a professional original and cover band, playing styles from Indie Rock, Classic Rock, and Blues to live improvised Psychedelic Jams and Singer-Songwriter Acoustic music; touring the state of Arizona full-time and traveling to California to record. Having experienced a broad range of opportunities, from corporate and private performances to festivals and opening for the likes of The Wailers, Blues Traveler, Huey Lewi sand the News, and Berlin (to name a few), Amy was able to hone her skills as a performer, live engineer, and recording artist. After the band parted ways in 2018, Amy began her solo journey and enjoyed the opportunity to showcase her music with Republic Records in Los Angeles, CA. Shortly thereafter, she was sought out and hired as a music instructor.
Amy provides instruction on bass guitar, vocals, guitar, and piano, along with training for performance, and recommendations for instrument and equipment selection. With a love for guiding students toward the achievement of their dreams, Amy inspires through building confidence with positive reinforcement - teaching technique, theory, and suggesting practice habits that can lead students to becoming one with their instrument
